Not Too Old Conference Wrap-Up 2026

More than 260 people attended the Not Too Old conference Aug. 15 at E91 Church, gathering to explore how to turn their later years into their “greater years.”

Despite heavy rain and flooding in the area that day, organizers called the event a success, crediting a receptive turnout of older and younger adults alike.

Attendees praised the conference’s breakout workshops, where volunteer leaders shared their personal experience, professional expertise and advice in breakout sessions. Organizers thanked those who led and presided over the sessions, saying their contributions will leave a lasting impact.

Those who couldn’t make it to this year’s conference can still watch the E91 Foundation’s video from the event, view the Foundation’s breakout session presentation, and browse photos from the day.

The Not Too Old conference will return Aug. 14, 2027 with special guest Scott Swan, WTHR news anchor.

Timber Kart Arrives at Timber Wolf Lake Young Life Camp

The E91 Foundation is excited to share that a new custom-built, two-seat electric go-kart — affectionately dubbed the “Timber Kart” — has officially arrived at Timber Wolf Lake Young Life Camp near Cadillac, Michigan.

Earlier this year, the Foundation approved a $15,850 grant to fund the purchase of the brand-new, state-of-the-art go-kart. This kart is designed specifically to allow Young Life Capernaum campers — teens and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities — and other campers with physical limitations to fully enjoy the go-karting experience alongside their peers.
The kart’s side-by-side two-seat design lets a camper ride right alongside a leader or buddy, with a single set of controls and a supportive high-back seat and harness — built so campers of varying ability levels can ride safely and comfortably next to a friend.

The Timber Kart was manufactured and assembled by Amusement Products (AP) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a leading name in go-kart design and fabrication. AP worked closely with the camp to build a kart that meets the accessibility needs of Capernaum campers without compromising on fun or performance.

One special touch on the kart: its custom decal package — the bold “91” racing number with both the Young Life and E91 Foundation logos — designed by our own Scott Weber in collaboration with Amusement Products and the team at Timber Wolf Lake Young Life Camp.

A huge thank-you to Amusement Products for providing the images of the kart, and to everyone at Timber Wolf Lake who worked to bring this project to life. This new addition means more campers than ever will get to experience the thrill of the track this summer.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to support inclusive, joy-filled experiences for campers of all abilities — and we can’t wait to see the Timber Kart in action.

2026 Mid-Year Update

“Giving is better than receiving because giving starts the receiving process.”
— Jim Rohn

In a recent devotional, Pastor Pete Briscoe writes, “In the book of Acts (20:35) Paul quotes Jesus, who said, ‘It is more blessed to give than receive.’

They both agree that it’s in giving that we’re more blessed,” continues Briscoe, adding, “We hear that so much that it’s pretty much cliché. But do we believe it? Honestly, do we really believe there’s more blessing in giving than there is in receiving? I’m not so sure.”

Perhaps the words of Leonard Nimoy of “Star Trek” fame add another perspective on giving: “Whatever I have given, I have gained.”

2026 First-Quarter Update

“The happiest people are not those getting more,
but those giving more.”
— H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

That sentiment aligns well with something pastor Pete Briscoe wrote in a recent devotional: “The most fulfilling blessings in life come when we give what we have.” It sounds counterintuitive, but it’s a truth that generosity tends to confirm.

It’s a truth your giving confirms, too — and we’re grateful.
